Hegumen Father Mina Mina

Hegumen Father Mina Mina was born in Shoubra, Cairo, Egypt on January 5th, 1960.

He attended the University of Helwan’s School of Engineering and graduated in 1981 as salutatorian of his class. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering.

Hegumen Father Mina immigrated to the United States in 1984 and received his Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania on May of 1987.

From 1987 to 1999, he worked as a Computer Network Installation Supervisor at the University of Pennsylvania. He was a member of a team that integrated the very first computer network system to the University.

During this time, he also served as deacon and Sunday school servant; He later served as headmaster of Sunday school and board member at St. George Coptic Orthodox Church of Philadelphia. In 1999, he completed his study at the Pope Shenouda Seminary in Cedar Grove, New Jersey.

Hegumen Father Mina Mina was ordained a priest for St. Mary Coptic Orthodox Church of Delaware by His Holiness Pope Shenouda III on September 6th, 1999. On September 9th, 2018, Father Mina Mina was elevated to the rank of a Hegumen at the hands of Bishop Karas. He received the Master’s Degree of Arts certification in Theology from the Pope Shenouda III Seminary granted by H.H. Pope Tawadros II.

Father Mina is married to Tasoni Therese and has two children, Dr. Daniel Mina (and his wife Dr. Sally Mina) and Engr. Rania DeLeon (and her husband Engr. David DeLeon), and two grandchildren, Sotiria and Ellaria.
